The Shadow of The Almighty....

I took a month to finish reading this book.. a biography of Jim Elliot's life written not by himself, neither narrated by person, written by the love of his life which he left behind to answer God's call in his life.

The many times which i pick up this book to read n put them down, Jim's love and passion for God and sold out life to His call despite his own struggles, fleshly desires never failed to move me, never failed to bring the word 'yes' to my lips under my breath, never failed to let me take in breaths of amazement on the way he knew God and wanted to be known by Him the way He wanted to. Thats y it took me one month to slowly savour the book which blessed my heart deeply.

Jim's love, trust, dependency, desire, authencity and knowledge for the Great I am deeply inspire me, though there are some of his views which i think its too extreme but im truly inspired by this man's testimony he left behind while the Lord brought him home. Especially towards the last part whereby his wife shared Jim never left much legacy neither in riches nor churches, except his sold out life n the lives he influenced and brought closer to God in Shandia, of cos his wife and young daughter.

This life has been lived out in accordance i think to
"If I perish, I perish"

Something touched my heart deeper in the book was his wife...the day he left for the territory of Aucas (ppl he has been praying for 6 yrs), though in her heart she knew it may be the last time she sees her husband, yet she let him go to where he knows he has been called to, what obedience and open hands. Im speechless....teary too upon reading that. His wife? Elisabeth Elliot.

And it has been a great testimony and encouragement to me answering the call of the Lord God Almighty :)

In His hands, Lisa (consecrated one)
