Tea Time!
As a little girl, i always have a soft spot for cakes and kuehs and coffee... especially those pretty and yummy ones. I guess i was partly influenced by my mum who used to come home at 5pm in the afternoon, bringing me little cakes and kuehs of all sorts, and i enjoyed those times of sitting there and have tea with her. Not those spectacular, prim and proper tea time that you see on tv or in movies, but just a simple grassroot time.
Recently, i been to nice places that serves nice yummy cakes and coffee at a good rate. So, the next time if you have time for some tea... you may try the following ^_^
Obolo @ Joo Chiat Road... if you have a soft spot for macarons, cheesecakes (which im not), here is a good place to go. Its a cosy little cafe tucked in the corner. Nothing fanciful but the set is quite worth it.
Secret Recipe tea promotion is no secret at all by now... the chocolate banana cake is my all-time fave.
New! Mykii @ Holland Village... my new found haunt. Good to go on mondays from 3-6pm. They serve their desserts 1-for-1, paying for only the more expensive ones and comes with coffee or tea. Their granny's crumble are yum yum.
If you drink... this is the place for you too! its FREE FLOW desserts for you at less than 20bucks if i remember correctly.
Hotel Intercontinental ^_^ this is a secret i reluctantly let you guys in... cos not many people actually know that Olive Tree @ this hotel serves tea at a steal! So its super nice to go there, sipping tea and read a book or catch up with your frens without the buzz in town.
Nectarie @ Clarke Quay serves yummy cakes! you does not feel like you are in Singapore when seated there, having your afternoon tea.
Toast @ Taka! A dear friend brought me there for our weekly rendevous.. hehe.. yummy cupcakes and muffins.
So far.. these places are my highly recommended places for affordable, yummy afternoon tea without much crowds. Try them out someday and tell me how u like them :)
